Beginner to early Intermediate
You are either brand new to the surfing world or have had a few lessons already.
If not new, you are able to catch waves in the white water and stand up going straight to the beach (most of the time). You may have found yourself at the start of turning within the white water. You also may have attempted to paddle beyond the breaking waves a couple of times but find it very difficult to catch unbroken waves.
This course is designed to take you from the beginning of surfing and help you on the right path towards a rapid progression into surfing confidently. This is done by supplying all the right tools and know how.
IF NOT A FULL BEGINNER, not to worry, this course focuses on the goals of the individual and delves into all the appropriate knowledge to help early intermediates flourish.
The course is made up of 3 types of on land tuition as well as water tuition.
On land tuition
- Beach tuition – Day to day beach surf tuition; from the basics (lying on the board, paddling and catching waves and standing up) to the more advanced (turning onto a wave and paddling out back).
- Class room tuition – Presentations on vital surfing information such as; Surf Science (where waves come from, how to read swell forecasts, different types of break etc), Surfing History and board design through the ages.
- Photo Analysis – Probably the most valuable of all. We have sessions whilst you are in the water that we take photographs of you (in quick succession). This allows us to go through your technique on land and really help you pin point any future surfing goals. Photos are available for purchase on a memory stick at the end of each course.
In water tuition
- We are in the water surfing every day, twice a day! During which you will be coached by qualified instructors on wave selection and your technique.
