The Cornwall Surf Academy works alongside schools, providing learning packages aimed at development for students and teachers alike. Whilst each course develops the students surfing ability, they also develop sea and water awareness and an appreciation of the surrounding natural world. Surfing is an immersive activity, promoting mindfulness and FLOW, encouraging the student to develop as a person. CSA can provide a course designed around any group of students/teachers, and can fit around the various time requirements of a busy school.

Course introduction (integral part to all courses):

A typical day begins with a meet and greet, warm up games and we discuss the outcomes of the course. Everyone learns in different ways and we perform a short learning profile questionnaire to gain more understanding how our students learn best.

5 lessons (Immersion and Development)

The structure of these sessions are flexible and can change to reflect how the students are doing. We offer project based learning opportunities for the students, helping them develop associated skills out of the water. Typically pupils write about their time surfing, create videos and presentations. They could look at the Geography, History or Science behind what they are doing. We help motivate students by encouraging them to display write-ups/videos/presentations on our website.
